OREANDA-NEWS The House of Representatives of the US Congress has adopted a defense budget that provides for tougher sanctions against Moscow. 316 people voted for it, 113 against it.

In particular, the document includes amendments on expanding restrictions against Russia's sovereign debt, on the possibility of introducing personal sanctions against a whole list of officials, as well as on new measures against Nord Stream — 2.

The defense budget of about $ 780 billion has yet to pass consideration in the Senate and receive the signature of President Joe Biden before it becomes law.

Earlier it became known that the rules committee of the House of Representatives of the US Congress approved a bill recommending sanctions against 35 Russians involved, according to Washington, in human rights violations.
