OREANDA-NEWS  The World Bank (WB) announced on Wednesday that it would provide Ukraine with $1.75 billion in aid. This is reported by TASS, referring to the statement of the World Bank.

The bank explained that the package of assistance to Kiev includes a loan from the financial institution itself under the guarantees of the UK in the amount of $ 500 million, a US grant in the amount of $ 1.25 billion and a grant from Finland - $ 15 million.

It is noted that these funds will be used for healthcare, education, pension payments, social assistance and salaries for employees who provide basic public services.

Since June last year, the World Bank has already provided Kiev with $ 19.745 billion. In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the bank has collected almost $ 35 billion in emergency funding for Ukraine, including commitments and promises from a number of countries.
