OREANDA-NEWS. A resident of the city of Eluru in southern India died of an unknown disease, and 315 people are hospitalized with the same symptoms, the newspaper Hindu reported.

People began admitting to hospitals on December 5. According to doctors, the patients had dizziness, headache, and symptoms of epilepsy. All patients passed tests for coronavirus, they were negative. What became the causative agent is still unknown. Samples of water, food and blood were sent for study.

The publication informs that patients recover quickly enough. 170 people have already been discharged from hospitals.

By Monday, doctors had ruled out the possibility of poisoning with contaminated water or air. X-rays and computed tomography showed nothing suspicious. Now the doctors are waiting for the results of the patients’ blood tests.
