OREANDA-NEWS The head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, called the goal of the 11th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation to counteract the circumvention of existing restrictive measures. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

"We have already seriously shaken Russia's capabilities through the consistent introduction of ten packages of sanctions. Last Friday, the Commission approved its proposal regarding the 11th package of sanctions," the head of the EC said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Kiev.

She pointed out that European states within the framework of this package may prohibit the export of certain goods to third countries if they are suspected of helping to circumvent sanctions against Russia.

In March, the head of the European Diplomacy, Josep Borrel, said that the European Union had almost no options for new sanctions against Russia, all sanctions instruments had already been exhausted, so the EU would focus on helping Ukraine.
