OREANDA-NEWS On August 28, at about 11:30 Moscow time, an attempted attack from Ukraine in the Crimea region was stopped. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.
"Today, at around 11:30, another attempt by the Kiev regime to commit a terrorist attack on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped," the message says.
The Defense Ministry noted that the air defense equipment on duty destroyed a Ukrainian cruise missile over the Black Sea near the coast of Crimea. On the same day, the head of the republic, Sergey Aksenov, announced an attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to attack the peninsula with two reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles. Later, the fact of an attempted strike by Ukraine was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense.
On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special operation in Donbass. Thus, according to him, Moscow responded to requests for military assistance from the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
