OREANDA-NEWS  Large Russian companies have begun to transfer the processing of critical information from Moscow to data processing centers (data centers) beyond the Urals, two sources among hosting providers told Kommersant.

"If earlier companies, even those operating in the regions, sought centralized storage of information and consolidated it in the Moscow region, since the main business activity takes place here, now the opposite trend is forming," said one of the interlocutors of the publication. He explains the trend by the reorientation of Russian business to new markets.

The source claims that one of the reasons for the duplication and redundancy of critical data and information systems by companies in the Urals and Siberia was the increased terrorist threat. Rostelecom confirms the demand for the placement of data centers beyond the Urals. In the segment of cloud services in Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk, the company records an increase in demand at the level of 20-30 percent compared to last year.
