Finnish telecommunications equipment maker Nokia will not participate in the Mobile World Congress which will be held in Barcelona from February 24 to 27. “Nokia has been carefully monitoring the situation following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, with the goal of making a fact-based decision related to our attendance at Mobile World Congress in 2020,” the report published on the company’s website says.

Earlier, more than 20 market players, including Samsung, Intel, Amazon, Ericsson, Sony, LG Electronics, Vivo, Nvidia, have already refused to participate in the Congress. Chinese companies TCL, Xiaomi and ZTE cut delegations and decided not to hold press conferences.

Organizers of the event announced unprecedented security measures. Nevertheless, the holding of the Mobile World Congress is in question. According to the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia, the fate of the exhibition should be decided on February 14.
