OREANDA-NEWSThe Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom expressed regret on Tuesday about an article in the Financial Times newspaper, which spoke about allegedly political motives for Russia sending aid to Italy, which suffered from the coronavirus pandemic. This was reported to the Russian media by a representative of the embassy.

"The publication that appeared on March 24 in the Financial Times was unpleasantly surprised. It contains a distorted factology flavored with politicized statements by experts who clearly do not like good deeds from Russia", the diplomat said.

"The assistance provided by Italy to us is a gesture of solidarity and is aimed at supporting the friendly Italian people, who are in an extremely difficult situation because of the coronavirus and forced to confront the spread of infection selflessly. It's carried out at the request of the Italian government and in agreement with it. In addition, we count on that Russian specialists will be able to gain experience in Italy that will be useful in the fight against the disease in Russia itself", he said.
