OREANDA-NEWS. August 25, 2016. Analytic agency "AUTOSTAT" has conducted the market research of new passenger cars in Russia, and it has calculated the profit from their sale for the first seven months of 2016. According to the study, during this period, Russians spent for new cars 983.4 billion rubles - almost the same amount as in the same period of last year (984.4 billion rubles).

The leader by sales in the Russian market is German Mercedes-Benz, which from the sale of 21.5 thousand new cars (the average price is more than 5 million rubles) got 113.3 billion rubles – less by 3.2% than a year before. The second place is occupied by the Japanese Toyota, which was sold twice more cars (51.3 thousand units), but because of much lower average prices (2,2 mln. rubles) it received the income in the amount of 112 billion rubles (+ 2% ). The third place of the rating is occupied by Korean KIA, which earned in January - July of this year 81.6 billion rubles (+ 3.6%).

Domestic LADA is located on the fourth place with a score of 78.3 billion rubles (+ 6%). It is worth noting that the Russian brand has the highest sales result (142.6 thousand units), but due to the low average price of their cars (about 550 thousand Rubles), it gives the top-three. And the top-five is closed by Korean Hyundai (69,7 billion rubles ; -9.2%).
