OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2016. Kaiser Permanente Colorado, the state’s largest nonprofit health plan, today announced that its second Fort Collins medical offices will open on January 9, 2017. This is the fourth Kaiser Permanente facility to open in Northern Colorado and the health plan’s 31st medical office building in the state. The facility, being called the Kaiser Permanente Spring Creek medical offices, will be staffed by three physicians, a registered nurse, a licensed practical nurse, a lab technician, and various administrative supports.

Located at 1136 E. Stuart Street, Suite 200 (Building 3, 2nd Floor), Fort Collins, CO 80525, the 3,000 square-foot Spring Creek medical offices will be open to all Kaiser Permanente members, and will offer primary care, laboratory, and pharmacy services. Kaiser Permanente’s integrated approach to care delivery makes it easy for members to connect with their caregivers, often with same-day appointments available to meet the needs of busy individuals and families.

“Our new Spring Creek medical offices will offer Kaiser Permanente members top-notch care close to home,” said Jason Tacha, Kaiser Permanente’s Vice President of Ambulatory Care Delivery. “The Northern Colorado community has embraced our offerings of high-quality, affordable care over the past several years and we look forward to expanding and serving as a convenient option in Fort Collins.”

Two experienced physicians already with Kaiser Permanente will staff the Kaiser Permanente Spring Creek medical offices, with a third physician joining them shortly after the opening. L. Marie Walsh, MD, and Michelle Glasgow, MD, will both serve as family medicine physicians at the medical offices, offering care for a complete range of patient ages.

Dr. Walsh earned her medical doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine in Columbia, Mo., and completed her residency in family medicine at University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vt. She began her medical career as a nurse’s assistant in a nursing home. She credits this early experience for teaching her to understand what a privilege it is to provide care for people when they are feeling most vulnerable, and the tremendous impact healthcare professionals can have in someone’s life just by showing that they care.

“I’m excited to start working here because there are a lot of young families in Fort Collins and that is an opportunity for me to get involved and help keep those people healthy,” said Dr. Walsh.

Dr. Glasgow received her medical doctorate from Saba University School of Medicine, Saba, Dutch-West Indies and completed her residency in family medicine at Montana Family Medicine Residency in Billings, Montana. Her philosophy in medicine is that the patient and physician are a team.

“I’ve heard some buzz in the community that people are excited about Kaiser Permanente coming to this central area of Fort Collins,” said Dr. Glasgow. “I’m looking forward to meeting new patients, as well as serving existing patients that I have established relationships with from working at our first Fort Collins medical offices for the past four years.”

Kaiser Permanente offers a wide range of high-quality commercial coverage plans to employers, families and individuals in Northern Colorado. Larimer County residents are also eligible to enroll in Kaiser Permanente’s 5-star rated Medicare Advantage plans. According to the 2016-2017 National Committee for Quality Assurance’s Insurance Plan Rankings, Kaiser Permanente has the top rated commercial (private) and Medicare health plans in Colorado.

Kaiser Permanente members living in Northern Colorado have many options when selecting a physician. More than 400 primary and specialty care providers make up the health plan’s Northern Colorado network, including Banner Health and affiliated physicians in Weld and Larimer counties. Hospital care is directly coordinated with Banner Health at Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, McKee Medical Center in Loveland and North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Kaiser Permanente’s partnership with Banner Health allows for the sharing and utilization of health information technology to better coordinate patient care across varying levels of treatment.

Kaiser Permanente currently serves more than 40,000 members in Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley and surrounding communities. The opening of the Spring Creek medical offices marks the continuation of a significant expansion for the health plan in Northern Colorado. In October 2012, Kaiser Permanente opened medical offices in Loveland and Fort Collins, followed by the Greeley medical offices in 2014. All three facilities offer a full suite of primary care services, laboratory, pharmacy, medical imaging, Behavioral Health, and nutrition services. The Loveland medical offices also offer several specialty services, including Pain Management, Dermatology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology and a Sleep Clinic.

Kaiser Permanente is dedicated to improving the health of the Northern Colorado community it serves. Since opening medical offices in Northern Colorado in 2012, the health plan has awarded over \\$2.5 million to various community benefit organizations in Larimer and Weld counties.
