OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2016. Hundreds of thousands of metro Atlantans can feel confident knowing their health plan is rated highest in the state by the National Committee for Quality Assurance — the leading accrediting body for managed care organizations. Kaiser Permanente of Georgia, which serves 300,000 members and patients, earned 4.5 out of 5 stars for its private health plan and 5 out of 5 stars for its Medicare health plan.

“We focus daily on providing our members high quality care and strive to make their experience with us easy and convenient,” said Jim Simpson, interim president of Kaiser Permanente Georgia. “These latest NCQA ratings reflect the diligent efforts of our dedicated physicians and staff who work untiringly to improve our members’ health and to help them thrive.”

NCQA evaluates health plans based on consumer experience, prevention and treatment. Last year, NCQA implemented a new five-point rating system for its annual Health Insurance Plan Ratings. Once again, Kaiser Permanente of Georgia’s private and Medicare plans scored a full point above the next highest-rated health plans in the state. Kaiser Permanente has maintained its top NCQA ratings for more than a decade.

Kaiser Permanente is the state’s largest nonprofit health plan, serving the health care needs of metro Atlanta residents for more than 30 years. The health plan currently provides comprehensive health care services to its members and patients through 26 medical facilities in metro Atlanta and Athens, and a network of affiliated hospitals and physicians.
