OREANDA-NEWS The Company Nissan for the first half of 2017 produced in Russia 34,447 cars, which is more by 12% than a year ago. From the assembly line of the Nissan plant in St. Petersburg, 21302 crossovers came off – more by 27% than a year before. As Roman Skolsky, Director of Public Relations of Nissan in Russia informed "AUTOSTAT" agency, the growth is, first of all, connected with the launch of production of two key models for the Russian market: Nissan Qashqai and the new generation of Nissan Murano. The company expects that the upward trend may continue.

As it was informed earlier, by the results of 2017 the volume of production at the Nissan plant in St. Petersburg is planned to increase by about a quarter compared to the previous year (36458 cars). For this, the second shift will be introduced in October.

According to Roman Skolsky, government support also contributes to the increase in production, and first of all measures, aimed at supporting and developing of local production. "Nevertheless, in our opinion, it is necessary to develop new support measures aimed at increasing the localization of automotive components. For suppliers that are belonged to the small and medium-sized businesses, there are important tax incentives, reduction of administrative barriers and subsidizing of costs associated with investing in new production or upgrading existing production capacities, compensating for homologation costs, certification, testing of product samples. The development of suppliers of the auto component industry is one of the key tasks of the automotive industry today,"- says Roman Skolsky.

Recall that currently in Russia there are produced: Nissan Qashqai, Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Murano, Nissan Pathfinder - in St. Petersburg; Nissan Terrano - in Moscow. At AVTOVAZ plants in Togliatti and Izhevsk, there are produced sedans Nissan Almera and Sentra. Nissan sells cars produced in Russia to Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus and Azerbaijan.

In addition, in September of the last year, Nissan announced the project implementation of the export of spare parts to Europe. Nissan plant in St. Petersburg started the exporting of front and rear bumpers to Nissan X-Trail of its own production, which allowed the significantly reduction of the cost of parts in comparison with their analogues, which until now were supplied from Japan. The bumpers are exported to the European central spare parts store in Amsterdam, which consolidates all spare parts for the European market for further sale to dealers throughout Europe.
