OREANDA-NEWS. Russia plans to create a car hub in Mexico, said Russian Industry and Trade Minister, Denis Manturov. “Today the trade between countries becomes more difficult. In order to supply cars to the Latin American market, we are thinking about creating an industrial car hub, and as one of the competitive platforms to use the Mexican platform," - said Mr. Manturov during a business forum in San Luis -Poty. According to him, in this case, one can use the advantages for delivering cars to those countries, with which Mexico has trade relations, also within the framework of the agreement on the North American Free Trade Area NAFTA.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that in the current conditions the WTO rules no longer work. "Other mechanisms work: countries can impose sanctions on each other, restrict the import of a particular product range, introduce duties, and we also protect our market," - he said. Meanwhile, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has delivered 39 UAZ "Hunter" cars to Mexico since the beginning of the year, and another 48 vehicles will be delivered to Mexico by the end of the year ("UAZ Hunter", "Patriot", "Profi").
