OREANDA-NEWS. PA (the Press Association) has upgraded its Imagen Enterprise Video Platform to take advantage of the latest features that will help to make its vast archive of video content easier to search.

PA's video content serves digital and broadcast customers with both 'consumer ready' and 'newsroom ready' media footage, the latter being suitable for repurposing and cutting into news reports. The archive, hosted in the cloud on Microsoft's Azure platform, has anywhere from 10 to 70+ videos added to the site in any one day based on news stories from around the world.

The upgraded system enables PA to make the homepage of its video portal more customisable and consumer-friendly, allowing administrators to curate the most recent content into configurable sections based on content descriptions: latest news, latest sport or latest entertainment. There is a powerful and intelligent search mechanism using keywords to find content more quickly, and extra filters within search results to further categorise content. In addition there is an added option to clearly display the expiry date for content that has a limited license.

Alex Rothwell, Head of Video, Press Association, said, "We wanted to rejuvenate our video management and distribution solution to enable our users to find the clips they need quickly and easily, with a consumer-focused interface. The new version of Imagen has given us all the tools we need to offer better search methods and a more user-friendly environment."

Tom Blake, Chief Executive Officer, Imagen, said, "We have enjoyed a longstanding relationship with PA, and it's great to see how our latest product developments are making such a difference to their customers and their business."
