OREANDA-NEWS. Fitch Ratings has updated its criteria for rating local and regional governments outside the US, with no changes to the underlying rating factors or impact on existing ratings. The new criteria replace the previous version published on 18 of May 2015.

The International Local and Regional Government Rating Criteria are now the master criteria for rating sub-nationals outside the US. The five rating factors - institutional framework, economy, management and administration, finances and debt and other long term liabilities - remain unchanged and define the analytical process and explain the foundation for assigning or changing ratings to international local and regional governments.
