OREANDA-NEWS. In Togliatti the meeting of the Committee of Development Cooperation and production localization in the automotive industry that was held on April 28th, the President of AVTOVAZ, Nicolas Moore explained his position about the auto giant pool of suppliers.

In an interview with reporters, Mr. Moore said that he considered very important to cooperate with local producers of automotive components. As an example, he cited his experience in Romania. "We have also worked to improve the level of localization there – it concerned not only foreign suppliers and their location in Romania, but also the local Romanian suppliers. And, of course, there is a very great advantage in location of suppliers when they localize production close to the customer. From this point of view, we are trying to attract suppliers that are working here, so they raised the level of localization".

However, Nicolas Moore said that it is still important for the company that the quality of LADA cars is to be on the same level as the production of Renault-Nissan and Datsun. "Yes, sometimes we require new hardware, but it is often more important to attract the modern practices and experience - they are necessary for suppliers to provide the required level of quality. So, we need to help the purely Russian suppliers, especially the Togliatti and regional companies", - said Mr. Moore.

We should add that at the same meeting, the Vice-President of the Russian Engineering Union, the first deputy chairman of the Committee of State Duma of RF on Industry, Vladimir Gutenev, criticized the actions of the former management of the plant, by calling them "not always well thought-out."
