OREANDA-NEWS. Raytheon's dedication to armed service members, commitment to sustainable business and support for education have won the company a place on the Civic 50 ranking of the most community-minded companies in the United States.

The Points of Light Corporate Institute selected Raytheon for the list for the fourth straight year based on a points-based evaluation of its corporate social responsibility efforts. The group announced the honorees on Tuesday during its Conference on Volunteering and Service in Detroit.

Raytheon is a global aerospace and defense technology company based in Waltham, Massachusetts. Its social initiatives include programs aimed at helping military families, including a partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to build educational "centers of innovation" at clubs that serve military communities.

The company also helps veterans who are transitioning back to civilian life through a partnership with Student Veterans of America. It provides scholarships, grants and mentoring to help these former service members complete degrees and grow professionally.
