OREANDA-NEWS. For the 2017 model year Bosch eBike Systems presents Purion, an on-board computer aimed especially at pragmatic pedelec users. The display shows the eBiker the most important information and can be operated from the handlebar by thumb pressure. Purion combines design and functionality and provides a compact solution for both urban and cross-country use that is a meaningful addition to the Bosch display portfolio.

2-in-1 solution: display and remote control in one
Unlike the Bosch Intuvia and Nyon on-board eBike computers, each of which includes a remote control near the handlebar grip, Purion is a 2-in-1 solution. The display and remote control are combined in one device on the left of the handlebar that is easily and safely operated by thumb pressure and provides the most important functions for the purist eBiker. Easy-to-use keys set the assistance levels (Off, Eco, Tour, Sport, Turbo). The display is optimally readable from every angle and informs the eBiker about speed, total mileage, range and distance travelled. Purion also shows when the next service check is due at the eBiker’s dealer – provided that the dealer has pre-set this function. The benefit is that regular service intervals keep the eBike in good condition.

Design meets functionality
“With Purion we continue to pursue our course consistently, developing individual solutions for different needs and expectations. By no means all eBikers need functions such as navigation, fitness tracking or a centrally positioned control unit on their bike. Some prefer uncluttered handlebars with a puristic design,” says Tamara Winograd, Head of Marketing and Communication at Bosch eBike Systems. That is why Bosch is now offering in Purion a compact display for pragmatic eBikers. Purion combines ergonomic design and functionality. “Minimalist looks coupled with maximum cycling fun. Concentration on the essential. That is the idea on which Purion is based,” Winograd explains.
