OREANDA-NEWS. Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it revised its outlook on Kazakhstan-based Bank TuranAlem (BTA) to positive from stable. At the same time, its 'BB/B' long- and short-term counterparty credit ratings were affirmed.

The rating action reflects the shareholders' plan to inject a total of $400 million of new capital by the end of the first quarter of 2007, demonstrating their commitment and support to the bank--although this is just enough to maintain capitalization at tight levels given continued fast balance sheet growth.
