OREANDA-NEWS. TNK-BP announced today successful completion of a major upgrade project at the Ryazan oil refining company (RNPK) with the inauguration of the alkylation and isomerization units.

A comprehensive modernization programme at the Ryazan refinery originally began in 2000. Its major elements include commissioning of the fluid catalytic cracker; vacuum gasoil (VGO) hydrotreater; a hydrogen unit; sulphuric acid units; and the alkylation and isomerization units.

In 2006 the company plans to make nearly 1 million tons more of high octane gasoline than in 2001, before the startup of the new fluid catalytic cracker unit, and also around 1,6 million tons more of diesel. The percentage of fuel oil processed from crude oil will reduce by nearly 8%.
