OREANDA-NEWS. The Management of “Aeroflot – Russian airlines” OJSC has approved the program of stage-by-stage replacement of Tu-134 aircrafts. All the 14 Tu-134 aircrafts belonging to the Aeroflot’s fleet will be taken out of service by January 01, 2008.

In view of the taken decision the Management has drawn special attention of the engineering team to the maintenance of this model’s high reliability and safety during the remaining lifetime.

By 2010 Aeroflot also plans to replace Tu-154 aircrafts with more modernized models.

Tu-134 and Tu-154 will be replaced with the liners of the new generation – short-haul aircrafts SuperJet–100 designed by the perspective Russian company “Sukhoy”, which delivery will commence at the end of 2008, and medium-haul А320 aircraft family.

The Aeroflot fleet numbers 88 aircrafts as of February 01, 2007 including: Tu-134-14, Tu-154-28, Il-96-6, A319-8, A320-10, A321-7, B767-11, DS-10-4.
