OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2007. JSC SITRONICS will supply 550,000 temporary universal social tickets for the State-owned Enterprise Moscow Social Register. These contactless transportation cards utilizing Radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology, reported the press-centre of  JSC SITRONICS.
The tickets are valid for Moscow Metro and ground transport, as well as public transport in Moscow Region equipped by automatic fare control systems. Social tickets will be issued by social welfare authorities to residents of Moscow and Moscow Region entitled to free fare.
Temporary universal social tickets, produced utilizing RFID technology, are similar to Ultralight cards introduced in Moscow Metro since 1st February. They are more reliable and resistant to long-term use owing to lack of mechanical interaction between the card and the reader element. New non-contacting tickets have the higher level of security.
"For SITRONICS this is the first contract to supply contactless RFID transportation tickets for the ground transport. Since the beginning of 2007 we are successfully supplying Moscow Metro with such tickets, and we are glad to admit, that Moscow Social Register had appreciated our abilities and advantages - estimated potential of this market only for Moscow is about 300 million tickets per year” - commented the Head of SITRONICS Microelectronic Solutions business division Gennady Krasnikov.
Temporary universal social tickets are scheduled for introduction in April 2007.
