OREANDA-NEWS. On April 02, 2007 JSC Atomenergomash (TVEL is the founder) Director General Kirill Komarov and the head of a French company Alstom Patrick Kron have signed an agreement regarding establishing a joint venture for production of steam turbine machinery for nuclear plants, reported the press-centre of  TVEL. The joint venture will be registered in Russia. The Russian Party’s share will comprise 51%. Atomenergomash via ZiO-Podolsk engineering plant controlled by Atomenergomash will provide to the authorized capital a vacant manufacturing building of 60 thousand square meters where the required technological equipment will be mounted. The JV investment volume shall comprise 300 million euros.


In accordance with agreement Alstom company will provide technology for manufacturing of slow turbines and Arabelle generators. The agreement foresees localization programme, i.e. gradual increase of components manufactured in Russia and also the right to repair the manufactured machinery.  Slow turbines manufactured by the JV will be supplied to the nuclear power plants under construction in Russia as well as to NPPs constructed abroad under Russian nuclear technologies.
