On April 02, 2007 RAO "UES of Russia" has established a Central Flood Control Commission (CFCC) chaired by Victor Pauli, member of the Company's Management Board, Deputy Technical Director and Chief Technical Inspector of RAO "UES of Russia" The Commission will hold its first meeting on 3 April 2007, reported the press-centre of  RAO "UES of Russia". The task set before the Central Flood Control Commission is to ensure safe operation of equipment at RAO UES energy enterprises and prevent power failures and accidents during the flood season, and deliver reliable power to customers.


Specifically, the Commission is to plan operation of energy facilities during the flood season so as to enable the RAO UES energy companies to make the most use of the available water resources in compliance with the requirements set forth in the resolutions of the Federal Agency for Water Resources and wholesale market regulations. OAO "UES FGC" has been charged with ensuring reliable operation of its power transmission lines and 220-750 kV substations involved in the transportation of electricity generated by hydropower plants. Similar Flood Control Commissions have been set up at RAO UES subsidiaries, including OAO "HydroWGC".
