OREANDA-NEWS. Since the beginning of 2007 Russian Post and JSC "RCC "Ugavia" launched the service of air and railway tickets sale in post offices. The service has been granted in 18 regions in Russia since 2005. However there are different types of technologies in post offices, some of them provide operations as booking offices enabling customers to book and buy tickets, other ones collect orders, but customers can get tickets in 1-2 days after they’ve paid for them, reported the press-centre of  Russian Post. The prime difference of new service rendered jointly with JSC "RCC "Ugavia" is that customers can perform it in real-time mode. The enterprise establishes the network of booking offices with specially trained staff to give the customers opportunity to buy tickets and return them if necessary.

Currently, customers can buy tickets in post offices in Rostov region (14 class), Murmansk region (14 class), Kaliningrad region (4 class) and Krasnodar territory (15 class). In the near future post offices in Archangelsk region (8 class), Chelyabinsk region (15 class) and the Komi Republic (12 class) are planned to join the project.
Over 3500 railway tickets and 190 air tickets were sold within the first three months of the project implementation. The service is focused on people living in the remote districts who have to pass many kilometers so to buy tickets. Implementing the afore-mentioned service aims at making the process of buying the tickets more comfortable. Post plans to set minimal service fee. By the end of 2007 the enterprise plans to launch 600 booking offices in 34 regions within the territory of the Russian Federation.
