OREANDA-NEWS. Attending the event were representatives of TVEL, NPCC, Elemash, Chemical and Metallurgical Plant, Bochvar All-Russian Research Institute of Non-organic Materials, Physics and Energy Institute, All-Russian Research Institute of Chemical Technology, Technological Design Institute of Scientific Instrument Engineering, reported the press-centre of  TVEL. They discussed and exchanged experience on a wide spectrum of problems concerning the production of uranium dioxide powder and ceramic nuclear fuel.


The executive director of TVEL V. Kalantyr pointed out that the companies have made significant progress in terms of cost reduction and efficiency enhancement. The stability of technological processes has been increased. For example, NPCC has introduced the technology of dry pellet pressing. This innovation has significantly improved the technical-economic efficiency of the process. The sides considered a plan of action for developing the powder and pellet production at TVEL.
