OREANDA-NEWS. On April 09, 2007 OMZ-SpecStal (St.-Petersburg), a part of OMZ (Uralmash-Izhora Group) (RTS: OMZZ; LSE: OMZD; OTC: UHMVY), has received an Approval Certificate from one of the leading international classification organizations, the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), for the production of carbon, carbon-manganiferous and low-alloyed steel forgings and castings. The certification for forgings specifies a maximum weight of 80 tons, and for the production of castings a maximum weight of 70 tons, reported the press-centre of  OMZ. OMZ-SpecStal has also received a Recognition Diploma from the Russian River Register (RRR) as an enterprise specializing in manufacturing carbon-, alloy- and stainless steel castings and forgings for the shipping industry, and ship propellers in particular.
