OREANDA-NEWS. On April 10, 2007 Company System Capital Management (SCM) presented its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy within first in Ukraine International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility which took place in Kiev hotel "Premier Palace" on Friday, April, 6. Conference organizer was leading business publication "Expert Ukraine", reported the press-centre of  Azovstal Iron & Steel Works.

SCM Director on international communications and relationships with investors, Jock Mendoza-Wilson, who made presentation at the conference, said: "For leading companies as SCM, it is important to demonstrate their considerable contribution to the development of Ukrainian society and provide effective dialogue between authority, nongovernmental organizations and other interested persons who are participants of social processes in the country. The conference showed that in the short time Ukrainian business made huge steps in the field of corporate social responsibility, and there are effective approaches and strategies for providing of further success in this direction".

The main subject for discussion at the conference was construction of effective business relationships with all employees as well as with power institutions. Representatives of national and regional authorities, charitable organizations, business and nongovernmental organizations made presentations at the conference. Among them there are Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Mikhail Papiev, UN Representative in Ukraine, Fransis O'Donnell, Chairman of the board of company "Industrial Union of Donbas" Sergei Taruta as well as President of Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Thomas Eymond-Laritaz.

More than 200 delegates participated at the conference, discussed approaches for solution of social problems, applied by Ukrainian companies, development of social and economic partnership between business and authorities at regional and national level. Experts introduced to conference participants the best examples of corporate social responsibility in the international practice.
