OREANDA-NEWS. On April 13, 2007 the Gazprom Headquarters has hosted a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Yury Boiko, Fuel and Energy Minister of Ukraine. The parties discussed the issues relevant to the existing contracts and gas balance. The parties expressed satisfaction with gas deliveries to Ukraine and Russian gas transit to European consumers in the first quarter, reported the press-centre of Gazprom. The Russian side confirmed its intention to fulfill accepted obligations on gas supply and transit via Ukraine in 2007 placing special emphasis on importance of stability and predictability of Ukrainian gas supply and transit policy.


Alexey Miller underscored that Gazprom is worried about current situation in Ukraine taking into account the country’s highly important role for Russian gas transit to European consumers. At his side, Yury Boiko assured that the Ukrainian Government controlled the situation in the economic sector and provided reliability and stability of Russian gas transit to Europe.
