OREANDA-NEWS. On April 19, 2007 Central Research Institute ATOMINFORM hosted a seminar “The Demand of the Aircraft Building Complex for the Technologies and Projects of Rosatom.” The seminar was organized by Atom Innovation Center in cooperation with Sukhoi JSC and United Aircraft Building Corporation (UABC). Over 70 scientists and designers represented Rosatom at the seminar, reported the press-centre of Atom Innovation Center.

In his welcoming speech Director of Atom Innovation Marat Mulukov said that Rosatom is changing its approach to the organization of the cooperation of its companies with the consumers of innovative technologies and projects. “Our Center is actively promoting the existing projects. During our work we have revealed a whole number of spheres where Rosatom’s experience and technologies can be actively used. That’s exactly why, when preparing for the second innovative forum, we focused on the organization of interaction between designers and potential customers towards specific ends. This seminar is the preparatory stage of a joint program for promoting the innovative projects of the nuclear power industry in the aircraft building complex”.

The director of the Project Management Department of the UABC Leonid Komi noted that the development of the cooperation with the nuclear power industry is a strategic direction for the aircraft building complex as it allows it to use Rosatom’s advanced technologies and, thereby, to get competitive advantages on the market. The joint work of our technical specialists and the joint discussion of our projects and needs in the framework of working groups have shown that Rosatom’s companies actually have unique projects. For example, in instrument making and trouble-shooting they have offered over 20 projects, in mathematical modeling - 15 projects. Special attention was given to our needs in new materials and alloys. The world leading aircraft producers are already transiting to composite materials and aluminum-lithium alloys, while in Russia the existing composite production capacities meet only 10% of the industry’s needs.

And here, we have real prospects for using the innovative potential of the nuclear power industry in new material production and for receiving additional orders for high-tech products.
During the seminar the members of the working groups formulated the major needs of the aircraft building industry and considered the possibilities of developing civil productions at Rosatom enterprises. Their proposals will be submitted to potential customers for consideration. The seminar is the first experience of inter-sectoral cooperation on the level of technical specialists. The deputy director general of Sukhoi JSC Moisey Lokshin noted that this is a very effective form of cooperation. Atom Innovation is planning a series of similar seminars with representatives of other sectors.
