OREANDA-NEWS. On April 18, 2007 the Board of Directors has appointed Slava Simonenko as CEO of MERLION. Prior to his new position, Mr. Simonenko served as managing director of MERLION System Solutions, MERLION’s subsidiary for corporate distribution. His successor has not been named yet, reported the press-centre of MERLION. Igor Petrov steps down as CEO of MERLION to take some time off and focus on new projects.

Slava Simonenko was born on November 11, 1974. He graduated in radio engineering and cybernetics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Mr. Simonenko has been in computer business since 1995. From 1997 to 1998, he ran the distributor companies Citilink and Denikin. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Simonenko was purchasing director of group Citilink. After the merger of group Citilink and Lizard he became purchasing director of LC-group. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Simonenko served as commercial director, LC-group, later renamed MERLION. In July 2005, he was named director of MERLION System Solutions. Mr. Simonenko is CEO of MERLION, effective April 18, 2007.
