OREANDA-NEWS. A new retro-train departed from the main station at Rostov-on-the-Don en route to Taganrog on the northern coast of Taganrog Gulf in the Sea of Azov. Taganrog is the birthplace of Anton Chekhov, the great Russian writer. The house where Chekhov spent his early life is preserved as a museum. Passengers can take part in a variety of excursions in Taganrog. The train will be drawn by an SU250 steam locomotive built in the 1940s and consist of two coaches.
