OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2007. The Bryansk Engineering Plant (BMZ, a Transmashholding-integrated company) is actively conducting preparations for batch production of main line diesel locomotives. The workshops are being prepared to manufacture the new 2TE25K Peresvet locomotives, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.
The 18 of 24 planned items are already received under the 2006-2007 campaign schedule. The Czech numerically controlled (ChPU) vertical-milling machining unit designed for processing the diesel locomotive body parts was received last week. The commissioning works of the KJ1832 hydro-copying machine and numerically controlled 1A740RF3 cartridge-centric lathe have been under way within the last few days. The equipment is designed for rough and finish cut of wheel pair axles of the locomotive bogies.
The BMZ ah-hoc erection gang is making foundations for the new machinery under the plant technical retooling campaign. The foundation for the German SHW-6L rigid-bed milling machine designed for processing the main line locomotives’ main frame is already complete. The unique 25 m bench machine will be the largest one at the plant. The machine installing works are to begin in the last ten-days of May. The trench for bead-blasting, painting and drying system is being prepared.
The BMZ and Kolomensky Zavod were the first to produce the 2TE25K, 2TE25A and 2TE70 – type locomotives in Russia.
