OREANDA-NEWS. May 4, 2007. General Managers of Allianz Group in Central and Eastern Europe meet in Russia for the first time. The General Managers met with Russian mass media in Moscow, in ROSNO office at Ozerkovskaya Quay.

With that visit, top managers of Allianz insurance companies in eight countries of Central and Eastern Europe (Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Czech, Russia and Croatia), Allianz New Europe and pan-regional companies Allianz Direct and Allianz Business Services launched the regular events of Allianz Group to share their experience in emerging markets.

The meeting was arranged in Russia, since Allianz SE recently bought the controlling interest in OJSC ROSNO, and the company is now being integrated into Allianz Group. The directors and journalists discussed the perspectives of the Russian insurance market compared with emerging European markets. Allianz technologies and know-how to achieve the leadership in emerging insurance markets were demonstrated to media representatives, supported with the companies’ experience.

Dr. Klaus Junker, General Manager of Allianz New Europe Management, notes: "Allianz business history clearly demonstrates Group’s successful leadership experience in emerging markets. All of the present companies are among top 3 companies by total revenue in their domestic markets: Allianz Bulgaria — 1 place, Allianz Hungary — 1 place, Allianz Poland — 3 place, Allianz Slovakia — 1 place, Allianz Czechia — 3 place, Allianz Romania — 1 place и Allianz Croatia — 3 place".

Khannes Chopra, ROSNO Chairman of the Board and Allianz SE representative in the CIS, noted that Group saw serious perspectives in Russia: "Insurance markets of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, just as the CIS markets, are undergoing a period of rapid development.
