OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2007.  In April 2007, North-West Telecom has completed the Luga-Gatchina section of the fiber-optic line in the Leningrad Region, thus finishing the construction of its own high-speed transport network in the direction St. Petersburg – Pskov*.

The Luga-Gatchina section was constructed in 6 months. North-West Telecom’s new 139 km-long fiber-optic line passes across the south of the Leningrad Region with many settlements and a well-developed transportation network.

The completion of the Luga-Gatchina fiber-optic line is an important event not only for the company, but for the Leningrad and Pskov Regions as well. The fiber-optic line will help improve the quality of local, intrazonal and inter-city connections, ensure a high-speed Internet access. In the future, thanks to the fiber-optic line the NWT subscribers will be able to use such rapidly developing and promising services as IP-television, video on request etc.
