OREANDA-NEWS. On May 10, 2007 Rosenergoatom has signed a contract with Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC) for the provision of engineering-technical consultations on how to operate and maintain Tianwan, a Chinese NPP built by Russian Atomstoryexport, reported the press-centre of Rosenergoatom.

The Concern’s permanent representative will start its work at Tianwan in July as soon as the 1st unit of the plant is put into commercial service. The details of the contract were discussed during the Apr 17-19 visit of a Rosenergoatom delegation to China. As of now, the 1st unit of the plant is undergoing 100-hour demonstration testing. On May 11 the unit will undergo guarantee testing, after which it will be put into commercial service. Tianwan NPP uses improved WWER-1000 (B-428) reactor with К-1000–60/3000 turbine. Tianwan is the biggest economic project between Russia and China.
