OREANDA-NEWS. In April 2007, North-West Telecom has completed the Luga-Gatchina section of the fiber-optic line in the Leningrad Region, thus finishing the construction of its own high-speed transport network in the direction St. Petersburg – Pskov.

The Luga-Gatchina section was constructed in 6 months. North-West Telecom’s new 139 km-long fiber-optic line passes across the south of the Leningrad Region with many settlements and a well-developed transportation network.

At present, NWT’s own fiber-optic line with the capacity over 23 million channels per km covers all centers of the regions and republics in the North-West Federal District and over 70% of district centers.
