OREANDA-NEWS. On May 14, 2007 the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, met with the Chairman of the State Control Committee (SCC), Zenon Lomat, to receive his report. Zenon Lomat reported to the Head of State on the results of the work of the SCC over four months of the current year, reported the Presidential website www. president.gov.by.
Thanks to the measures the SCC has taken with regard to the economic entities which breached the legislative norms of Belarus, about Br 22.3 billion have been reimbursed to the state revenue.
The President emphasized that the State Control Committee should raise the level of its work. The SCC staff members ought to be highly competent and have a good knowledge of the situation.
Special focus was laid by the Head of State on the need to enhance control over the use of budgetary resources in the work of ministries, departments, and law enforcing agencies.
