OREANDA-NEWS. The Aeroflot-Russian Airlines JSC and the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) will sign a memorandum on Tuesday on the purchase from the latter of fifteen more “SuperJet-100” airplanes.

The document is to be signed during the visiting session of the Military Industrial Commission of the Russian Cabinet, taking part in which will be First Vice-Premier Sergei Ivanov, the vice-premier’s Secretariat reports.

It was earlier reported that Aeroflot and SCAC had earlier concluded a contract to buy 30 such aircraft.

At present, SCAC already has orders for 61 SuperJet-100 medium-range planes. Company Director-General Viktor Subbotin noted that it was planned to conclude contracts for 40 more planes of this type already this year.

SCAC is a subsidiary firm of the Sukhoi JSC. It was formed to implement Sukhoi civilian projects. SuperJet-100 planes are to eventually replace the Tu-134 liners that are now being used.
