OREANDA-NEWS. On May 16, 2007 Sviaz-Bank has become an agent bank for making insurance indemnity payments for the fourth time after a winning a contest held by the State Corporation Deposit Insurance Agency. Payments will be made to depositors of St. Petersburg Bank of Reconstruction and Development (SPBRD Commercial Bank, St. Petersburg) due to recall of SPBRD Commercial Bank’s license for carrying out banking operations and to loss occurrence, reported the press-centre of  Sviaz-Bank.
According to SPBRD Commercial Bank’s obligation registry, 13,000 depositors will be indemnified for a total of 172 million rubles.
Statements and indemnity payments to deposits will be accepted from May 16, 2007 to November 16, 2007 at the following Sviaz-Bank offices in St. Petersburg: Bolshaya Morskaya street, 3-5; Baskov lane, 12; Pochtamtskaia street, 9, liter A.
SPBRD Commercial Bank depositors who wish to leave their money in Sviaz-Bank can take advantage of a special offer – a “Compensation” deposit valid for 181 days with an annual interest rate of up to 9,50% in rubles. Every depositor who opens a “Compensation” deposit will also be able to obtain a Visa card without making an initial deposit to the card account or paying the annual service fee.
In March 2007, Sviaz-Bank began making indemnity payments to depositors at Ltd Rubin Commercial Bank (Daghestan) in Makhachkala and Moscow.
Sviaz-Bank made payments to depositors at Hard Bank Commercial Bank, Ltd. and to physical persons – creditors at NEP Bank, Ltd.
On June 14, 2005, Sviaz-Bank was one of the first banks to be granted authorization by the State Corporation Deposit Insurance Agency to participate in contests for selecting agent banks to make insurance indemnity payments to depositors.
