OREANDA-NEWS. On May 21, 2007 the medical insurance company Gazprommedstrakh, part of the SOGAZ Insurance Group, has signed an agreement to provide compulsory medical insurance (CMI) for members of the Murmansk Government's Education Committee and its subordinate institutions. The number of policyholders amounted to 9,914 people, reported the press-centre of  SOGAZ.
A Gazprommedstrakh branch has been operating in the Murmansk region since October 2003. In December 2006, the company was declared the winner of the open tender held to select a medical insurance organisation that would implement the CMI program for the unemployed and senior citizens in Murmansk and the Murmansk region. As of now, more than 7,400 enterprises and organisations have been insured by the company. Today, the number of the unemployed people and senior citizens insured by Gazprommedstrakh as part of the CMI program in the region totals 300 thousand. To provide its clients with free medical aid, the company has concluded contracts with all the hospitals operating as part of the regional CMI system.
Founded on 1st April 1998, the OJSC Gazprommedstrakh specialises in the implementation of the Compulsory Medical Insurance (CMI) program. A major medical insurance company in Russia, Gazprommedstrakh has insured over 8,8 million people. The company’s paid-in authorized capital is 102,5 million rubles.
