OREANDA-NEWS. May 25, 2007. During January-April 2007 compared to the last year same period the cargo handling of the sea ports of the Odessa region increased by 19.4% - up to 32.4 mn tons, reports RBC-Ukraine.
 
Transit cargo handling grew by 49.8% - up to 17.7 mn tons, import - by 39.2%, up to 3.1 mn tons. Export cargo handling decreased by 14.2% - to 11.2 mn tons.
 
In January-April of the current year the turnover of the Odessa Commercial Sea Port increased by 21.4% - up to 11.4 mn tons, Yuzhny - by 1.4%, up to 7.3 mn tons, Ilichevsk - by 7.6%, up to 5.1 mn tons. Cargo handling volume was increased due to the transit growth of oil, coal, ore, grain and other kinds of cargo.
 
In 2006 the cargo handling of the sea ports of the Odessa region totaled 82.6 mn tons. It was 73.4% of the total turnover of all the ports of Ukraine.
