OREANDA-NEWS. S7 Airlines continues to increase the number of its foreign-made aircraft. In May 2007, S7’s fleet was boosted by the arrival of a seventh Airbus A319 (with the aircraft registration number VP-BTS). The aircraft has been painted in S7’s colours and is set to fly from the Dutch city of Maastricht to Novosibirsk, where it will go through customs clearance.

The A319 airliner is outstandingly economically efficient and considered the best in its class. It is also well suited to S7’s route network. Airbus A319s under S7’s flag can be seen at Moscow Domodedovo and Novosibirsk Tolmachyovo airports, and at Nizhnevartovsk, Simferopol, Chelyabinsk, Baku, Tbilisi and many other cities in Russia, other ex-Soviet states and further afield.

The new aircraft will be flown by S7 pilots trained at flight training centres run by United Airlines in Denver and Airbus in Tunis. S7’s flight instructors have Airbus instruction certificates and considerable experience of flying with aircraft of this type.

At S7, we are continuously improving our standards of service, updating our aircraft fleet, and making every effort to make travelling pleasant and memorable for our passengers. S7 Airlines is Russia’s largest domestic carrier and one of the world’s top 50 domestic airlines. In terms of passenger numbers, S7 is Russia’s second-biggest airline overall. In 2006, S7 made more than 40,000 flights, carrying 4,900,000 passengers and more than 28,000 tonnes of cargo and post.

You can find a flight timetable, check seat availability and book tickets on S7’s official website, www.s7.ru, or by calling 8-800-200-000-7 (free from within Russia).
