OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2007. SOGAZ Insurance Group has acted as an organiser of the international scientific workshop New Potential in Urological Practice which took place in Moscow on 25 May 2007, reported the press-centre of SOGAZ. 

The workshop involved leading Russian and foreign specialists in modern urology and heads of medical services from major Russian companies and healthcare management agencies from various regions of the Russian Federation.

The key subjects discussed at the workshop were modern approaches to treating urology patients, discussion of and exchange of experience in reducing the number of complications resulting from surgical intervention, some aspects of interaction between the doctor and the patient, and state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment methods. Special attention was paid to increasing the role of the outpatient stage in treating urology patients, screening, and medical case monitoring.

Larissa Terskaya, director for claims handling and supervision of personal insurance programmes, SOGAZ Insurance Group, addressed a welcome to participants in the workshop. In her speech, she put a special emphasis on saying that SOGAZ takes an active part in implementing the Healthcare national project and supports the initiative of the president of the Russian Federation and the government of the Russian Federation for switching the national healthcare system to insurance mechanisms. "As we discuss modern approaches to treating urology patients, special attention should be paid to early detection of diseases and stepping up the prevention stage in modern medicine and principles of continuity in medical practice. This workshop will facilitate the introduction of cutting-edge approaches to treating patients in Russian health facilities, improvement of the quality of medical assistance, and accessibility of high technologies," said Ms Terskaya.
