OREANDA-NEWS. The companies of JSC ‘IDGC of Center and North Caucasus” service area are taking on extra conditions of control and safety measures to secure a reliable power supply to customers in operating at high temperatures, reported the press-centre of  JSC “IDGC of Center and North Caucasus”.

The companies enhanced the monitoring of power substations equipment; the aerial lines are being checked. Cross cut clearing has been accomplished in all affiliates to prevent high voltage lines from sagging and short-circuiting on shrubs. The GCC monitors the current load of power transport lines, and has taken the measures for safe operation of the power system at a standard regime in cases of further temperature increase.

Fire safety monitoring and thunder storm alert activities have been enhanced.

It should be noted that in spring prior to the storm period all companies held activities on the  protection of power line equipment and the prevention of substation overload which can occur during thunderstorms. All RGC specialists checked the condition and in-service environment of grounding and lightning proof devices. The run out valve-type arresters on 10-0,4 kW transformer substations were replaced in the course of preparing for the storm period during the scheduled overhaul of distribution grids.

A full fire protection inspection of the premises was held to check the condition of all on-site fire protection facilities. The working capacity of transmission facilities, fire and technical equipment, fire alarms in buildings were checked. Garbage burning is forbidden in the production areas and on substation premises during the fire-hazard period. Company specialists liaise with fire-fighting crews of EMERCOM to carry out fire fighting drills at the power units.

Attention is paid to health and safety at work items, provision of safety work conditions, equipping with required kit as well as personal protective devices.
 
The heat wave in the Central and Southern parts of Russia has not obstructed the scheduled overall of power units.
