OREANDA-NEWS. June 6, 2007. TNK-BP is going to increase its oil production in the fields of the Uvat Group in the south Tyumen Region up to 10 million tons a year by 2017–2018, said Viktor Blagoveschensky, Vice President of TNK-BP and Head of the Tyumen Business Unit.

Mr. Blagoveschensky added that the current oil production rate in the Uvat Group of fields is approximately 1.3–1.5 million tons a year and oil is so far produced only in the Ust-Tegusskoe and Urnenskoe fields.

According to the Vice President, TNK-BP is going to commission and put into operation the Tyamkinskoe field in winter 2007–2008. “We have begun construction of a 264-km—long pipeline to this field and are planning to complete its construction in 2009,” emphasized the Vice President of the company.

The Uvat Group of fields comprises 7 license areas with 8 fields and 29 promising structures whose recoverable reserves are estimated at approximately 60 million tons and prospective resources at approximately 200 million tons of oil. According to the Uvat Group development project, 300 km of pipelines, more than 500 km of automobile roads, and 200 km of power transmission lines will be constructed in the Uvat District.
