OREANDA-NEWS. On May 23, 2007 at the Kyrgyz Government House, Prime Minister of the KR Almazbek Atambayev met with local business communities, reported the press-centre of IBC.

Business communities were represented by Tatiana Kim, Head of the Chamber of Tax Consultants;  Talay Asylbekov, the IBC’s Executive Director; Vladimir Komissarov, Chairman of the Congress of Business Associations; Uluk Kydyraliyev, Executive Director of the Bishkek Business Club; and Sergey Ponomariov, Executive Director of the Association of Markets, Trade and Service Enterprises.

The head of the Government received a business-prepared new draft Tax Code and some other documents concerning the history of cooperation between state bodies and business communities. The latter call on the Kyrgyz Government to develop mechanisms enabling their involvement in the process of drafting statutory acts in the sphere of economics and entrepreneurship.

Amending and supplementing of the current Tax Code will guarantee stability and succession, said Almazbek Atambayev. Business has no objections to improving the existing version and supports this proposal, replied Tatiana Kim, the IBC member and chairperson of the Chamber of Tax Consultants. As the draft being currently with the Jogorku Kenesh fails to respond to business concerns, the new law should bring in essential changes, believes Tatiana Kim.

Up until recently, Almazbek Atambayev, in his own words, remained in business, for which he now speaks in the Government.  “In Kyrgyzstan, it is entrepreneurs rather than oil and gas who serve as a mainspring able to push the country forward. That’s why I promise that the new government of Kyrgyzstan will create conditions most favorable for entrepreneurship throughout the former Soviet Union,” the premier assured the business public.
