On June 05, 2007 Atom Innovation Center was the information partner of the conference “Reformation of RAO UES Russia: Impulse for Development of Electrotechnical Idustry of Russia” that was conducted by RAO UES Russia and EnergoMarket magazine at the Moscow International Trade Center, reported the press-centre of  Atom Innovation.

This year Rosatom and RAO UES have launched large-scale investment programs worth 1.5trl RUR and 3trl RUR, respectively. By 2011 Russia will have to launch 41,900 MW of new capacities in the traditional energy sector and by 2025 almost 40 GW of nuclear power capacities as well as relevant networks. The large-scale energy development program is shaping high demand for all types of electrical equipment: transformers, cables, secondary systems, switching equipment. The growing demand is stimulating the development of the electrotechnical industry and new technologies, is enlarging productions and creating new jobs.

Invited to the conference were Industry and Energy Minister of Russia V.Khristenko, Chairman of the Board of RAO UES A.Chubais, Technical Director of RAO UES V.Vainzikher, Head of FNC UES A.Rappoport, Head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko, Head of the Federal Agency for Power Engineering S.Oganesyan, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Natural Monopolies N.Ryzhkov, Director General of Technopromexport S.Molozhavy, Director General of State Electrotechnical Institute V.Kovalev, RAO UES managers.

Atom Innovation Center was set up by the head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko on Oct 4 2005 on the basis of AtomInform Central Research Institute for developing and supporting the innovation infrastructure of the nuclear power industry and to promote innovative technologies on domestic and foreign markets. The center gives special attention to the transfer of the advanced innovative technologies of the nuclear power industry to other industries, the management of innovative projects and the protection of the intellectual property rights of the Russian Federation.
