OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2007. The Kolomensky Zavod (a CJSC Transmashholding member) diesel locomotives will be fitted with new door modules designed by the КМТ Industrial Group (also a CJSC Transmashholding member), reported the press-centre of  Transmashholding.

Kolomensky Zavod will have received 21 sets of locomotive doors for passenger locomotives by the close of the year.

The fire safety was focused on while manufacturing the locomotive doors. All materials used for the doors do not emit any substances in dangerous concentrations in case of fire.

The materials of the driver's cab doors are fireproof or slow-burning, besides:
the door manufacturing technology incorporating a fireproof filler enables at least 30 minute flame-retardation in case of fire in the power compartment;
the vestibule-side door wing surface and the door-case edge have special fireproof covering, that is a thermo-expansible material preventing combustion products from entering the driver's cab;
the window frame is fitted with a glazing unit made of two multilayer fireproof glasses; the window frame is airproof due to special pressurizing fireproof materials:
the driver's cab doors are fitted with fireproof hinges.

The doors will be shipped as a ready unit, that is door module (door-case, wing, locking device) making their mounting easier. The set includes two right doors, two left doors, two driver's cab doors.

The new door module development sets an example of cooperation between Transmashholding-integrated enterprises under the campaign for modular production.
