OREANDA-NEWS. JSC "IDGC of Center and North Caucasus" 0,4-10 kW distribution grid service crew finals started yesterday on June 5 at JSC "Tambovenergo" training ground.8 teams representing Vologda, Volgograd, Belgorod, Rostov, Kaluga, Tambov, Tula and Nizhny Novgorod will match their skills in the contest.

Dmitry Pankov, Deputy Technical Director of JSC "IDGC of Center and North Caucasus" and chief referee opened the contest. In his opening speech he said, that power company should always bare customer in mind even during changes of the legislation. That is why the power engineers should improve their skills. New modern techniques are implemented in the industry, and personnel are constantly upgrading their qualification.

Nikolay Perepechin, vice governor of Tambov region congratulated the participants on behalf of the Tambov region governor: "Power industry is at the head of the Russian economy. Power energy development was announced as a priority and strategic direction in the President’s Address to the Federal Assembly. The best of the best, the professionals who provide reliability and accidents free operation will compete these days in Tambov region".

Vladimir Khloptsov, Deputy General Director of "IDGC of Center and North Caucasus" welcomed the participants and guests on behalf of JSC "Tambovenergo" Board of Directors and personnel: "The power engineer profession is a very difficult and responsible one. The power supply to customers, development of economics and infrastructure of the Russian regions, as well as safety of human life depend on the service crews professionalism and coherent activities. It is a great honor to welcome the power engineers teams. The company training ground meets all the requirements. I am sure, that every crew will demonstrate high levels of professionalism and will share practices. The contest will improve skills and each participant will gain experience which will help in the future".

Such professional competitions are aimed to improve the skills of the power engineers, share practices in equipment control, new equipment and technique implementation.

The competition is held in several stages. During the first day the officials will check the level of equipment and the technical conditions of devices, materials and protective kit. The crews demonstrated all the required equipment as well as teir own inventions which make work easier in difficult situations. The extraordinary way of solving problems was estimated by the officials.

During all competition days the crews will replace a damaged line isolator pole with a transitory wooden pole of 10 kW aerial lines and determine the decay degree on the anchor concrete pole of 10 kW aerial lines, rescue an electric shock casualty and use the "Gosha" resuscitation training simulator. JSC "Volgogradenergo" Kamyshin power grid personnel shall demonstrate their skills in handling live wire jobs.

The winner shall be awarded a crew vehicle. The runners-up shall be awarded diplomas and consolation prizes. The trade union will award a special prize for professionalism.
